Last year Austube Mills introduced our Community Sponsorship Program so that we could give back to the various communities that have been our home over the past 80 years. As part of this program, we sponsored the Merewether Lady Golfers Charity Day in July this year, which raised $2,150 for the Ronald McDonald House in Newcastle.

Each year the Merewether Lady Golfers hold a golf day to raise money for a worthwhile cause they believe most local people are able to relate to. This year 129 ladies turned out to play and entry fees, raffle ticket sales, and novelty events on the day raised the $2,150 total.

The money donated to the Ronald McDonald House will go towards helping seriously ill children and their families when they need it most.

Austube Mills also sponsored this event last year, helping to raise $1,400 for Kaleidoscope, a charity that operates out of the local John Hunter Hospital. Kaleidoscope acts as an umbrella organisation that combines a range of health care services designed to meet the ever-changing health needs of babies, children, young people and their families.
